From Lucasfilm Games comes another flight sim to add to the list, but this one certainly isn't just for the hardcore flight fanatic.

The title should give you a clue as to the time period of this game, and the planes you will be piloting. Whether you want to fly a Spitfire, a Hurricane, or a number of Luftwaffe aircraft, you'll be dogfighting with your adversaries or going on bombing runs. There are a lot of varied missions to tackle, and even a mission builder to make new ones, so it has lasting appeal. The graphics may not be so attractive (as is usually the case with Amiga flight sims) but the control is quite straightforward.

This won't be the last flight sim to grace the list by far, but I'm not the best person to comment on them as I've never really got into any. I think this could be one for me, though: older planes means simpler times, with no missiles or high-tech gadgetry to worry about, so it might be a good option for newbie pilots like myself.
