A popular platform game in its day, Flood sees you as an underground litter picker.
Take control of Quiffy, who lives in underground caverns, as he picks up rubbish left behind by various nasty creatures, while your home slowly floods. Quiffy can't breathe underwater, so he needs to get a move on. Fortunately, there are ways to get around, namely the teleporters: some transport you elsewhere in the level, some take you to the next one. Quiffy is also an adept climber, scaling walls and even ceilings to get around the caves easily. Last of all, you have a variety of weapons at your disposal to take care of the surrounding critters, such as grenades, dynamite and boomerangs. The game has a password system, so the more determined player can keep coming back for more, as there are many levels to complete.

It's games like this that show how the Amiga could hold its own against the consoles of the time, and although the caverns can look a bit drab, there's playability here. It's not a radically different approach to the genre - 'collect everything and leave' is something we've seen many times elsewhere - but you won't find this particular iteration anywhere else.
