Buggy Boy
1991: 78

Surprisingly, this arcade port was one of the few games in the list never to receive any kind of review, yet still managed to enter the 1991 list.
Buggy Boy is a classic 80's arcade driving game, yet the premise is quite unique. You control an off-road vehicle, doing laps of a course, with the aim being the acquisition of points rather than winning races. You gain points by collecting flags and passing through gates, and you have a time limit which can be extended either through time gates or passing a check point. Once your time is up, the game is over. There are five different tracks to race on, with various obstacles which can either make you jump up, knock you off course, or worst, make you crash, wasting valuable time.

The entry in the 1991 list - which may constitute the only words ever written about it in Amiga Power - suggests that the coin-op was not very remarkable or well-received, yet it shines on the Amiga. There may be some truth to that, and as a bit of arcade fun, Buggy Boy is still worth a play. Whether it is truly better than the arcade original, however, is quite debateable.
