One of the pleasures of going back through the Amiga Power lists is finding unique and unusual hidden gems, and Vaxine certainly falls in this category.
As the title suggests, the game involves you entering a human body to dispose of virus particles - or at least, that is the abstract concept involved here. In fact, it's a shoot 'em up from a first-person perspective where you fire particles of different colours to destroy viruses of the same colour. You have limited ammunition, which can become an issue on later levels. If you fail to eliminate the virus particles quickly enough, they can attach to each other and eventually attach to other particles, becoming too much to handle, at which point the game is over.

As is often the case with games like this, I went into it having no clue what I was supposed to do. A quick read of the Amiga Format review, however, and I was ploughing through the first few levels with ease. It took me no time at all to get the hang of the firing mechanism, and it's a really fascinating concept. Simple but effective, and another example of an Amiga game that's well worth a look decades later.
