Carrier Command will feature prominently later in this list, but its sequel, while still making the list, was less well received.
Unlike its predecessor, which relied on a heavy dose of strategy, Battle Command is much more arcade-like, putting you in command of a single tank. Armed with a cannon and various missiles, you are dropped from a helicopter into a hostile environment and tasked with simple objectives which usually involve blowing things up. As with Carrier Command, the game uses a 3D perspective, one of many on the Amiga to do so, but thanks to the way it's programmed, having a faster Amiga won't increase performance. This is a shame, as it can be quite sluggish, making it harder to hit your targets with the cannon. The tank is also not particularly fast, so simple missions can take a while simply due to your slow speed. Nevertheless, it's a simple game which is very easy to get into.

This doesn't stand the test of time, I'm afraid, as it's basically just a first-person tank shooter, with no strategy, story, or anything that will really grab you these days. This genre has come a long way in the intervening years, so there's not much to come back to here, and the lack of improved frame rate on faster Amigas is baffling (compare to something like Total Eclipse, which runs so fast as to be unplayable on a sped-up machine). If you must try it, the PC version is probably a better choice, since a faster CPU will give you a boost.
