Lucasfilm are well known for their point-and-click adventure games, but puzzle platformers are something else entirely.
As the plant foreman (or woman) in charge of a large toy producing machine known as the BEAST, your job is to make sure everything runs smoothly, and that you produce the correct toys that you have to for that shift. They can be different characters (from Star Wars or Zak McCracken, for example) and in different colours, so you need to make sure the machine is putting heads on bodies instead of the opposite, and that objects aren't falling the wrong way off conveyor belts. Without the manual or a good guide, the game is a nightmare to understand for a new player, and the platforming controls aren't as refined as other games, both of which can lead to frustration. With perseverance, however, you can figure out how the machine is usually supposed to work, and therefore how you should fix it.

I have to say I hated this when I started playing. I couldn't find the original manual, and any guides online were just "do this, do that", expecting you knew how the BEAST was supposed to work already, which I didn't. After playing for a bit, I figured out the normal operation, and thus was able to look out for what was going wrong with it, and from that point I was able to progress. So yes, keep at it, and you might enjoy this game.
