Sometimes you just want an old-fashioned arcade blaster, and Silkworm does that, but with a two-player twist.

If this game was just a horizontal scrolling shooter with a helicopter that can fire in two directions, that would be enough, but Silkworm goes one better. You have a choice of controlling either a helicopter, which is the default choice, or a jeep, which has a gun you can aim and the ability to jump. Combining both together in two-player mode makes for a unique shoot 'em up that proved very popular in the Amiga's early days. It may not have a great deal of depth, but it provided a good reason to get a friend to join in with the fun, since it really is a 'pick up and play' sort of game.

I can't think of many shoot 'em ups thst provide a simultaneous two-player experience like this one, but it's still a lot of fun in single player mode. Not sure why this wasn't picked up in the later lists, but it's worth playing today.
