Lucasfilm Games - later Lucasarts - didn't often draw on their film properties for gaming inspiration, but that changed with Indy's first point-and-click adventure.
The game follows the film, yet deviates in certain ways, adding and removing different elements. As the third game to use the SCUMM engine, you walk around as Indy, picking up items and using them on other items. There is less talking than in future games like Monkey Island, and extra features such as hand-to-hand combat. The game also uses a points system, and getting the maximum amount of points involves solving puzzles in different ways, requiring multiple playthroughs.

Personally, this is my least favourite of Lucasfilm/Lucasarts' adventures. There are confusing puzzles and elements that require some skill, which in a game like this isn't entirely welcome. Of course, if you really have to play this, the Amiga might be worth a try, since at least the audio should be better, even if the graphics are identical to the PC version.
