When it comes to platformers on the Sega Mega Drive, Aladdin still rates highly amongst many, but the Amiga 1200 was still capable of pulling it off, too.

Take Aladdin through numerous levels, sword swinging and apple chucking, in a quest to save Princess Jasmine from the evil Jaffar. At a time when the Sega Mega Drive was in its prime and the IBM PC had surpassed the Amiga in terms of power, this AGA-only game showed that the platform was still able to deliver some of the most popular titles.

You've got to admit that, aside from running at half the framerate of the Mega Drive, it looks as good and sounds even better. Granted, you might still prefer the Mega Drive version today for its ease of emulation and smoother gameplay, but it's nice to see the Amiga 1200 holding its own as the 90s wore on.
