The early 90s really was a time for food and drink mascots in video games, but Colin Curly the Quavers mascot may be one of the more obscure for younger people, featuring here in a puzzle game.
The premise is simple: you must cause all of the platforms in a level to disappear, and make it to the exit, without falling to your doom. Usually jumping on the platforms is the way to go, but there are special platforms that can have an effect on them, too. You can vary your jumps (one or two spaces, up above or jumping below), so you must analyse the situation to decide the correct actions and the correct order. The game uses five-digit codes for each level, so you can easily continue from where you left off - and you'll need it because there are plenty of levels to play.

It's fun to go back and find these somewhat unique puzzle games in amongst the various platformers and shooters, and One Step Beyond is quite a simple one at heart. Still, I'm not sure a similar one has emerged since, so if brain ticklers are your thing, this could be worth a shot.
