If you liked the playstyle of Dungeon Master and Eye of the Beholder, but wanted to get out of the dungeons and explore the wider world, Ishar 2 has you covered.
The land of Ishar is in danger, and so you set out to gather some fellow adventurers to save it. The action is done in a first-person manner, like a number of other RPGs of the time, but the wide view window and meticulously detailed graphics set it apart. There is a large world to explore, rather than a closed off set of dungeons, and there are many characters to encounter.

I probably should've given this more of a chance but I quickly struggled to figure out where to go and what to do, and as usual in these cases, I just gave up. I'm sure that if I persevered then I would have a good time, but at least with dungeon crawling RPGs it's very clear where you need to go. In this case, I think I'd need some direction. Whatever, give it a look if you're a fan of the genre.
