One thing that's clear from the lists is that the Amiga Power team liked their point-and-click adventures, so let's look at another one.
The land of Enchantia has been cursed by an evil witch, but for some reason, there are no boys in Enchantia with whom she can cast a spell of eternal life on herself. Thus, she kidnaps your character from our world and you start the game chained up in a dungeon, needing to figure out your escape. The interface uses pictures instead of words, and thankfully you don't have to be extremely accurate with clicking on the screen as you can interact with things within a certain distance from your character. This simple interface makes it quite easy to pick up and get going, though the complete lack of dialogue might turn off some people who want more of a story to follow.

The first screen can be a bit baffling when you start, but soon you realise that the game isn't all that difficult, and certainly doesn't punish you like some games can. I'd appreciate a bit of dialogue, but it's not a bad entry in the adventure canon.
