European platformers get a retrospective bad rap, and this one is about as European as they get.
Thomas is a very nippy little critter, and he likes collecting gems. The playing style is a little different to your typical platformer: in each level, you must collect a certain amount of gems to open the exit (you're told how many you need and how many there are in total). If you bump into an enemy, you don't lose a life or health, you're simply stunned - but this doesn't reduce the challenge, because each level has a time limit. If you run out of time, you lose a life, though you're not sent back to the start of the level like in other games. This concept makes the action quite frantic and is certainly a change from other platformers.

I quite liked the novel concept of this one, the fact that you're not greatly punished for making a wrong move but know that you still need to get a move on to progress. It's fast and smooth, and has a unique playing style, so I think it's worth a try, even today.
