After refining the SCUMM system with Monkey Island, Lucasarts brought back Indiana Jones for another point-and-click affair, with a much better result.

Taking place shortly before the outbreak of World War 2, the story centres around the fabled ancient city of Atlantis, which is the source of a mineral the Nazis have started using to great effect. Indy recruits Sophia, his former assistant and current psychic, to help locate a book that can lead them to Atlantis. The game presents three paths to completion, which is unusual for a Lucasarts game and gives this entry some replay value, but like the Last Crusade, it includes fist fighting which can get in the way of the puzzle solving.

Okay, elephant in the room: if you want to play this, the talkie PC version is not only far slicker, but has full voiced dialogue and is widely available today. Playing this on a stock A500 is torture, as you're swapping disks constantly, even at the weirdest moments: I looked at an object and had to swap disks to hear Indy say there was "nothing special about it". A supercharged Amiga with WHDLoad at least makes it playable. The game is great, obviously, but just bear this in mind.
