Before Rainbow Islands took the Amiga Power office by storm, a little single-screen arcade game with some bubble-blowing dragons made everyone take notice.
The concept is quite simple: Bub and Bob must clear 100 screens of enemies, and to do so they blow bubbles to trap the baddies, before popping them and sending the bad guys home. You can collect different items for points, a water bubble to send a stream of water down the level, and you can even bounce on your bubbles to get out of a tight spot. The cute graphics and infectious music made Bubble Bobble a firm favourite on many gaming platforms.

What can I say? It's Bubble Bobble, a gaming classic. The Amiga has a few different versions floating around, so I went for the Hit Squad budget release due to it being the last version out. It's a fine port, though even the ZX Spectrum was capable of a good rendition of this one, so it's not surprising. I'm happy to see it in the list, but you can play it on almost every platform you can imagine.
