Take to the skies again in one of the later flight sims on the Amiga, and a highly rated one at that.
Using the somewhat contemporary Operation Desert Storm as its backdrop, Combat Air Patrol sees you loading up either an F-14 Tomcat or an F-18 Hornet and heading out into the field, with a wide variety of missions to keep you occupied for some time. The graphics are smooth and detailed, though as is often the case with flight sims, a faster Amiga will give a useful performance boost. The game controls fairly well, requiring plenty of keyboard presses like a lot of simulations, but you do have the option of jumping straight into position to get acquainted more quickly.

If I spent a bit more time learning the nuances of these flight simulators that keep popping up in the list, I'm sure I'll find a lot of enjoyment in them. As it is, I just don't have the patience to dedicate to them, and I can't help but wonder if games of this type have improved dramatically over the last thirty years with more powerful computers. So yes, I don't have a lot to say about Combat Air Patrol, except that going up the list, these games do keep on looking nicer.
