It may have a silly title, but Vroom is anything but a silly racing game.
Vroom is a Formula 1 game, with the focus less on accuracy and more on an arcade feel. There are a variety of courses, based on real life locations, but the most interesting thing about it is the speed: it provides a very fast approximation of Formula 1 racing, and unusually for games of the time, incorporates rising and falling track levels. You can control with the joystick and mouse, with pros and cons for each, and it's not a complicated game to get started playing.

It's the kind of game you might ignore at first glance - a racing game with a funny name - but when you see it in action, there's no doubt that there's something to it. There are so few racers on this platform that are able not only to provide fast action but fluctuating elevations as well, and Domark clearly saw the potential and brought it out again with the official F1 licence - and you'll see that version much later in this list. Which is actually better? Hard to say, try them both.
