Top-down racers were a little old by this point, but Skidmarks brought the genre up to date with some interesting handling and graphics.
There are a number of tracks to race on, but the game is quite bare bones in terms of features. What makes it stand out is the contours of the tracks, which have a great deal of shape rather than being flat. This makes driving around them something of a challenge, but this coupled with the smooth gameplay makes it an interesting option to play.

Regarding versions, I played the AGA version because I had issues getting it to run at all on OCS or ECS machines, so if you're emulating then there's really no reason to play without AGA (and WHDLoad if you can, since the loading can be a bit of a chore). Is it worth playing? Well, it's quite simplistic, but still kind of fun. Hard to say, really.
