129: Crazy Cars 3

Number 129
(36.4 points)
Crazy Cars 3
1993: 10

Coming in at number ten in the 1993 list, this third incarnation of the Crazy Cars series is the highest-ranked game that was only featured that year, and never included again. How does a game go from tenth place to complete obscurity? Let's find out.
Pick and choose races to take part in around the United States, gambling with other racers on who will win, and use the winnings to improve your car and enter more lucrative events. It's a sprite-based racing game which is fast and quite enjoyable. The reason for its inclusion in just one list is because Titus released a new version, Lamborghini American Challenge, which included a two-player option, making it a superior game all round. That game will feature later in this list.

I won't say too much since the game will feature again later in an improved form, but I'll just say that as sprite-based driving games go, it's a good one. The control is good, and the competitive element involved with betting against your rivals is a nice touch.
