Another four-time choice, although usually near the bottom, RoboCop 3 was probably chosen due to it being an innovative game for the platform.Playing as RoboCop, the game eschews the typical platform/shooting-type game licence that was typical of the time (and in fact was what RoboCop and RoboCop 2 received), and instead provides a variety of game modes. You begin driving the streets of Detroit in a smooth 3D landscape, before becoming effectively a first-person shooter, at a time when such games were not a thing, particularly on the Amiga. The graphics are relatively crude flat polygons, but this enables the game to play well, even on a stock Amiga 500. This unique attempt was viewed very positively, showing that game developers could still do something quite revolutionary with a film licence.
Obviously, it goes without saying that when it came to FPSes in that period, Wolfenstein 3D and then Doom gave much more playable experiences on the PC than this. Having said that, this is still worth trying out as a piece of history, and a great example of what developers could achieve with the Amiga hardware.
