It wasn't long ago that we got our first three-time nominee, but after being missing in 1994 and 1995, The New Zealand Story snuck in at the bottom of 1996 to be the first of our four-time appearances, cementing its place as a solid coin-op licence that can't be ignored.
Cute platformers became a thing in the early 90s, but the New Zealand Story was one of the first. You play a kiwi bird whose friends have been kidnapped by a walrus, and you must venture out to save them. You can fire arrows at your enemies, as well as gain power-ups like flying vehicles to traverse the level. The game is very faithful to the arcade, with one difference being the lack of an on-screen map to aid navigation through the levels. Given that most of the levels are not so big, this is not of great concern.

As with a lot of arcade ports of the time, not much is gained from playing it on the Amiga instead of an arcade emulator nowadays, but at the time, getting that arcade experience at home was a big deal. The New Zealand Story was very popular in its day, and I'm sure some remember it fondly, though for me it's just okay, nothing too special.
