Jeff Minter was at his best when putting his own spin on existing games, and this take on Robotron: 2084 is arguably his most successful, besides Tempest 2000.
Public domain and shareware games commonly ported famous games from the arcades, and in Llamatron, you are a laser-shooting llama destroying anything in its path. If you have two joysticks, you can use one to move and the other to fire, but playing with a single controller isn't so bad, as you can lock your direction of fire while pressing the button, and the llama continuously fires. Those with photosensitive epilepsy might want to be aware of the constant flashing in the game, and performance is better on more powerful machines like the Amiga 1200.

If you can tolerate the flashing, this is lots of mindless fun. I do recommend playing it in WinUAE with the fastest possible CPU settings, because it really makes it a smoother experience, and of course it might be wise to use a joypad with four face buttons to do the two-joystick experience.
