Sim City in space? Sounds like fun.
The game begins with a spaceship hovering above an asteroid, and your task is to build on said asteroid, with the ultimate goal of colonising nearby asteroids until you have a small galactic empire. You need to build a lot to get things done: mines, power generators, defence capabilities (there are other colonisers out there, after all), and like any good sim game, things start out simple before the complexity ramps up.

Sim games like this can seem perplexing at first, especially because in those days, menus tended to be tiny pictures with no explanation, but fortunately the manual gives a very detailed tutorial to get you started, and the concept becomes clear after that. I think the similarity to Sim City is very tenuous, and it's certainly different enough to other games to stand out on its own.
