If you find snooker a bit too fiddly, Archer Maclean has you covered with this old pub favourite.
The game uses the same engine as Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker, but switches the playstyle to that of pool rather than snooker. There are three varieties of the game: UK bar pool, American 8-ball and American 9-ball. It's essentially the same game as its predecessor, except with pool rules and a few minor tweaks.

At the time, I could see how it would be difficult to choose between Archer Maclean's pool and snooker games - it basically depends which ball game you prefer. If Pool had kept the ability to play snooker, it would've been an essential purchase rather than a choice, but now, obviously, we don't need to worry about that. Want to play 3D pool? Go for it.
