1996: 42 (59.0)

The three lists in which this game is featured all specify the A1200 version, though there was also an OCS/ECS version released. Clearly the Amiga Power team preferred the more advanced version of this Laser Squad-style game.
If you have played other games like Rebelstar and Laser Squad, you'll know what to expect here, with the main difference being the setting, inspired by the 1980 Iranian embassy siege. You control a team of SAS soldiers, and must use your action points wisely to manoeuvre around the embassy, taking out any terrorists you can find. While Laser Squad looked very much like an 8-bit game given a slight 16-bit makeover, Sabre Team put the Amiga to good use with good graphics and sound.

I didn't figure out if you could move the team members step by step, since clicking a location to move to wastes valuable APs by unnecessarily turning, so that's a negative. Having said that, if I've just missed something obvious and you can actually do that, then Sabre Team is a nice entry in this particularly niche genre, essentially a tabletop game on a computer. Is it better than Laser Squad? Maybe, I'm not sure, but it certainly looks and sounds much nicer, for what it's worth.
